It’s *almost* as big as New York Comic Con, and that means it will be TWICE as much fun! See? LOGIC. Anyway, I’ll be joining the folks of Singularity and Co. and some other great authors including Peter V. Brett and Alaya Johnson for a panel on . . . well it doesn’t really matter what it’s on, because odds are I’ll derail it within 30 seconds and take it off in some wild direction. And by “wild” I mean “awesome,” so come on out and heckle! It’s in the Mezzanine at 2:00PM on Sunday, June 30th. Details here
Balticon remains one of my favorite conventions, but this one will be particularly special, because I’ve been nominated for the Compton Crook Award! It’s a huge honor to be nominated for this award, and a real coup for me after all my years in DC, with Baltimore as the most active SF fan community within striking distance. I’ll be on the edge of my seat until they announce the winners. Come on out and celebrate with me (if I win) or console me (if I lose). Either way, I’ll be drunk, happy and telling you how much I love you.
This is a rare honor for me. The Colby program merges the two greatest loves of my life, and I am so jazzed to be part of it. I’m pretty sure this one’s for students only, and I’m really looking forward to meeting them and sharing my experience as both a writer and officer.
Last year, I participated in an author panel held by WORD Brooklyn and Housing Works. It was so successful that we’re doing it again! Join Peter V. Brett, Ellen Kushner and myself for a Q&A, panel discussion and book signing! Details here.
