How do you know you’ve arrived? WHEN YOU’RE INVITED TO SPEAK AT THE MUTHAF*!KIN’ LIBRARY OF CONGRESS (as Samuel Jackson would say). Folks, I have no idea how this happened, but I’m just praying that nobody wakes up and realizes who they invited to lecture. I promise to say smart things and wear a suit (or my blues if my CO will allow it) if you promise to show up and act like I’m saying smart things. Anyway, details are here. HOLY CRAP I’M GOING TO SPEAK AT THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS! Sorry. I’ll stop now. HOLY . . . Ahem. Okay. Seriously. I’m stopping.
Confusion is one of my favorite cons, and the only one in the midwest that I attend (so far). It’s where we host our annual Author D&D game, which is going to be extra epic this year! I’ll also be hosting a writing/PT sprint for those of you who feel like getting up early and sweating (prediction: this will be a lonely panel). Anyway, Detroit is positively balmy in January, so come on out and bring your shorts and flip-flops! Hope to see folks there.
It’s that time of year again – the biggest pop culture festival on this seaboard, and the event that hits closest to home for me. This is because I have been attending NYCC as a fan for as long as I can remember, and every time I go as a pro, well, let’s just say I keep pinching myself the whole weekend long. The only thing I like more than hanging at NYCC, is hanging at NYCC with friends, so come on out and shake my hand, why don’t you? On Friday, October 11th, at 11AM, I’ll be autographing free copies of my first novel, CONTROL POINT, at the Ace/Roc booth (#2129) along with other great Ace/Roc authors Benedict Jacka and M.L. Brennan. Please bring anything you’d like me to sign. I’ll be sure to have sticker bookplates to take home, and plenty of challenge coins on hand if you want to swap. On Saturday, October 12th at 12:15PM, I’ll…
Now, I know you’re thinking that Korea is an awfully long way to go, but through the miracle of modern technology, I can attend from the comfort of my own living room! It’s also the only room, but let’s not get into that. The point is, I will be Skyping to to say hi to an awesome bunch of expats and Koreans in their natural nerdy habitat. details on the con are here. This is my first con overseas, as well as my first con appearance via Skype, and I’m really psyched to be doing both. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Hope you’ve got a solid Internet connection.
I’ll be at Worldcon in San Antonio over Labor Day weekend, and I’m throwing a party that Saturday night! Come on out and hang with me at the con, but most importantly, come to my party! If the party’s running too late, come on out to my signing at the Twig bookshop in San Antonio.
