Get yo’ ninja on, win cool prizes

No sooner do I spin down from my London tour than I’m gearing up to head out to WorldCon. I’ve been hearing from a lot of folks who either can’t make it this year or are heading to DragonCon instead (which has been conveniently scheduled for the same weekend).

So, I figured this would be a good time to show my love to all and sundry by doing a giveaway, courtesy of my UK publisher, Headline. Since SHADOW OPS is a military story (and a special operations story in particular), I figured I’d make this contest all about situational awareness. Put on your ninja-caps and get ready:

For those of who can make it to WorldCon: The first person who can get a sticky note on my bag *without* me noticing (and without running, screaming, smacking anything hard, or actually STEALING my bag, etc … it’s about STEALTH and fun, folks) wins.

For those of you who can’t make it to WorldCon: The person who sends me the best shot of a sticky note anywhere else (can be stuck to anything. KEEP IT CLEAN AND DON’T HURT ANYBODY, FOLKS), wins.

And this is a pretty great giveaway: Not only will you receive an autographed copy of the British edition of CONTROL POINT, but I’ll throw in one of Oscar Britton’s dogtags!

So, get your sneak on and let’s see how this goes. Hope to see some of you at WorldCon! I’ll be watching for you VERY carefully …

You sir, are a brave man.

I’d send you a sticky pic from a nuclear submarine but ya know… having a cell with a camera in the shipyard is grounds for getting fired. Also espionage.

I’ll work on something equally cool.

    Myke,
I really enjoyed the disaster response panel at WorldCon — even if “intra-anal tourniquet” is an image that shall never be burned out of my brain!
I’ve written a story of a Lunar rescue squad, and I’d like to make it as authentic as possible. Have you written anything that reflects your expertise in this field? If so, where might I read it to get some inspiration?
    Thanks!
